I am surprised they dint kill it.

I had a 5 foot black snake give me a slight heart attach on my hiking trail yesterday.....I am not really scared of snakes but I never like a surprise. Black snakes kill copperheads and mice. So he got a friendly wave and a free pass.

At the time, It looked as big as the one in the video....lol

A fast night crawler will scare me to death if it startles me. Other than that I am fine with snakes. Even when I hiked into a den site in Arizona and saw a huge rattler that I would of loved to of made into a trophy, except he had started to crawl under a rock. I thought that I could just grab his tail and pull him out and I then thought better of it. When I looked at the entrance of the den I saw two others coiled up right in front of it. I never noticed them when the bigger one crawled between them. I then decided that I had better take a look at where I was standing and while there were none close enough to me to make me worry there were enough of them that I needed to be careful of which way I departed.

I've hiked into that den site a dozen or more times since then. Sometimes they are out and sometimes they are way back in. We even took a herpetologist from the University of Arizona into it but he could never find his way back. That along with all the rest that we have taken into it none of the snakes have been killed by us or anyone else that has gone into the site.
