Every time about this year as I put in my app I wonder if the bucks who got away in years past will return to the summer range again here in a few months.

Always a guessing game and this is a video from 2013 of a buck I saw again in 2014 but could not hunt due to family commitments. Sure hope to see him again here in 15! I would say he got bigger and was a real solid 180" class buck the year after this video was shot (2014) it would tickle me pink to see him return as a 190" typical this year..

Well we all can wish cant we :)!

Since it is slow does anyone else out there got a buck you are hoping to see again this year?

well, if the angles of the universes meet up and support the gravitational pull of the moon as the Orion points in the right direction divided by 2.14 then I think I have a 99.9% chance of glassing up that one that got away. haha, im sure hoping, these weak winter and warm spring and wet summers we've been having have sure upped the deer game a lot! im looking forward to fall!

I've seen several really nice bucks when I didn't have a tag or not in season and didn't see them again. There are lots of deer that winter in my area, sometimes see up to 100 at one time. I remember one particular buck that was here 3 years in a row and then never saw again. He had wonderful configured wide & high U shaped horns. Was probably over 180 and I have video of him chasing does in the rut. He probably is now decorating someone's wall! I did shoot one that I saw 2 years running. He had a monster body and just an average 160+ rack. He weighed 203# hanging without hide, head and gutted. He was in my apple orchard munching up all the dropped apples. Excellent eating!!View attachment 12538Buck in orchard.jpg

I am hoping to see the buck my brother and I both missed last year. I have 3 years of history with him and would like one more crack at him. I have become kind of fond of the old bruiser.

I found one this past season that I found in 2012. Betting the deer isn't moving far bc he was in the exact same spot. Had him figured for low 180s, things just didn't work out for the guy designated to shoot him. Problem is his location, you either have to be in his lap or stretch out a rifle.

This is the big 3x3 I hunted last year that disappeared rite after the velvet was shed. I hope to find him this year to see what his antlers look like.

I have a huge forked horn mounted with a rack like the 3 x 3 you photo'd. A biologist looked at him and told me that sometimes old bucks regress in the mass and number of points they get. My buck was at least 8 years old. His face and nose have the typical "old age" look of mule deer. I'd bet this 3 x 3 is going thru the same situation.

For 2 years straight I found a group of 3 bucks in the high country in late 3rd season. I was having a conversation with the local biologist about an old 30" 3pt in a certain area and he chuckled and said those bucks didn't come down and they'd be right there in February eating where the wind makes the snow drift off the side of the canyon they were in. Never would've thought they'd be content hanging out at 12k'.

I got a buck I've hunted for 2 years, next year will hopefully be the third. Hoping he has average fronts to pair with his good length beams and his really superb backs. But he is a smart sucker

Wow, those sure are some nice pics. I'd love the chance to shoot one of those. Gets me anxious already. Thanks for sharing.

Watched this buck for 3 years now. LQ tag for the area he's living in and haven't gotten lucky to draw it. Maybe this year.

Some cool bucks out there..

While the buck in the video is my "man I hope to see him back #1" here are a few others that it would be cool to see return.. Nothin better than fuzzy pics to pass the time until the draws!
