I think it depends on a lot of factors. Fit, use, features desired? I know I can't get by with just one boot for an entire season of hunting and guiding.
There are some darn good buys on Sierra Trading Post for boots. I've got a pair of Asolo boots I've beat to death and LOVE. Worth a look for some good discounts. I think they have LOWA from time to time as well.
I know what you mean Mark. I'm mainly looking at these for Sept/Oct hunting where it usually isn't to cold. I hunt steep rocky stuff most of the time so I need something that will keep up.
Were you able to check out Sierra TP? The Asolo boots are stout. I've logged miles in them with a fully loaded pack over scree fields and rocky passes.
These are with a look and there are many others available.
