Where do you store your hunting clothing / gear / guns?

Majority of my hunting clothing and gear is packed away in large plastic storage bins in the basement. Located in the utility room with my furnace/AC/HVAC, fridge, and all my home network hardeware/switches/cable modem. Some items that I wear throughout the year are in my bedroom closet on third floor (i.e., base layers, long underwear, poly shirts, boots, socks, etc.)

This has been my method since moving in to this house in 2005. All seems to be going well. I've seen no ill effects of this method so far.

Locked gun cabinet is in basement storage room on the other side of the house. No issues so far.

Where do you store your gear? Any recommendations / or words of caution?

Something I do with my guns that might slow down a thief a little bit--I got some plastic coated stainless steel cable, put a loop fitting on each end, and fish the cable through the trigger guards on all the guns so they are all connected together, then put a lock through the cable ends. I don't have a regular gun safe because I have moved several times and fully expect to move again and it would be just too difficult moving a safe, so I have a locking cabinet they stay in. My cable thing I'm sure would not totally stop a determined thief, but it might slow them down a little bit.

All firearms are in a safe in my master bedroom except for the one that I carry.

Ammo is just stored on a wall in my reloading room in the basement.

As for the clothes it is a mixture. I have a spare bedroom where I will store shirts, pants, boots, and jackets in the closet. The heavy weight stuff goes into a labeled Action Packer tub which then goes into the garage.

All my guns and ammo are in a safe that's so heavy empty that 3 guys can barely move with dollys, and it's bolted down to a cement floor. Cloths are shelved in totes.

Guns stored in a gun safe in my reloading room/shop. Ammo & reloading supplies there too. I also have a wardrobe where most of my hunting clothes are stored. All the rest of my gear (boots, hats, gloves, knives, etc are stored in a chest of drawers there too.
I do a lot of reloading so I have a large amount of bullets, primers, shot & powder stores in a steel fireproof cab. I also have a walnut gun case/cab that holds 14 guns that are in the great room.

All my camping gear is stored in my hunting trailer.

All my hunting clothes are washed and stored in large plastic tubs with lock down lids with some sagebrush branches/leaves stored inside with the clothes. Guns/ spotter/binos are in a safe, ammo in it's own safe.

Until last summer my guns were all over the place. House, shop, truck and not uncommon for one to be in the living room. They are all in a safe now, for some reason I figured I should lock them up. I still have a little anxiety over them all being in one place but I suppose it’s best. Clothes are worn year around so I don’t store them, same with optics. Often optics are left in the truck, I don’t have expensive optics.

All gear is in a dedicated room that I scored after my oldest moved out. Some goes in drawers. Much of it goes on hangers. Sleeping bags are hung up. Sleeping pads are all stored inflated standing up.

I don't worry about the whole scent fee nonsense and camo like some do. have been within 5 yards of elk wearing wranglers and no scent eliminators .

have nothing really against either but see them as unneccesary.

much more important to just keep still and not draw attention to yourself. and to be frank , there is nothing on this earth that can contain my scent. specially after a dinner of porknbeans

Pretty much the same other then I don?t have a basement. It?s all in the garage.

All my dedicated hunting clothing is stored in plastic totes in the upstairs of the garage. As long as it's all protected from moisture and mice they will outlast me. As for the base layers, I use them throughout the year for other activities, so they are just washed after use and hung up or put on shelves in the closet. Beware of basements, unless you have no other choice as they tend to get damp, and even flooded at times.

I have a small, dedicated room in our basement for most of my fishing and hunting gear. It's a mess, but I will try to post a pic later. I also keep 3 guns within easy reach upstairs. Ice fishing clothes and equipment gets stored in our heated garage, so snow and ice can melt off. It's tough to keep things organized with myself and my 2 boys when we all have duplicate gear.
