In Arkansas I noticed something when trying to purchase a fishing license. We are going on a fishing trip this weekend and my son is taking his girl friend. I got her information name, date of birth, address, and driver license number. When I went online to buy the license It stated I had to have social security number. It stated by law required for child support. I guess if you owe back child support in Arkansas you can not purchase a hunting or fishing license. Might motivate a few dead beats to catch up, but more than likely they would just hunt or fish with out license.

A lot of states are going that way to track the dead beat dads and moms.

Utah passed a law this last year about not being able to purchase a license if they are behind in their child support and I say more power to them after knowing some moms that were having all kinds of financial problems because of their ex's.

As you know by their very actions a poacher will not follow the rules so they don't care.

The only way that they are really tracked is if they get caught again and their information is ran through the system.

Illinois has that rule as well.

But be careful on calling folks who are behind on child support dead beats. I pay $3000 in child support per month and if I lost my job I would not be able to support paying that for very long unless I dipped into my 401k. I do acknowledge there are a lot of dead beats though, my step sons dad is one of them.

If you are buying new trucks, going hunting every year, buying guns or whatever else you want and not paying your child support you are a dead beat.

Everyone has problems that come up that are not under their control but I have see those that create their own problems and then expect the state to pay it for them.

I've watched too many dads shirk their responsibility when it comes to this. All that they wanted was to be a sperm donor and nothing more but a pregnancy was the results. I have seen a few moms just scrape by trying to do what they can for their kids with zero support from the fathers. These are the dead beats that I am talking of.

I know several fellas that fit the Deadbeat description to a T. Yet they hunt, have newer Trucks and one even bought a new 4 seater Polaris UTV. How they get away with it is a mystery to me.
