When does Wy announce Archery season dates?

All of the sudden the opportunity for an August deer hunt in Utah and/or NV popped up. Just to see what my options were I was going to see when Wy Archery season for antelope and deer is. I can't find anything on the site. Seems like last year it varied greatly from unit to unit but I have to say I don't completely remember.

You need to look at the regulations and not the application handbook. There will be a link on the main hunting page to the regs then links for each species. Open the season link and after the season dates there will be the special archery season section.

I'm a bit confused about this as well. So even if there are no type 9 tags listed in the tables, you can still put in for type 9 and hunt the special season? Take unit 16 antelope for example. Only type 1 and 6 is listed above, but the special archery season begins in August. Does that mean that the archery antelope tag is OTC?

Type 9 tags are archery only. Most units in the state you can hunt the special archery season with your type 1 or whatever type tag. You just have to buy an additional archery license. The non resident price is $30. So with your example area 16 is open for archery from Aug 15th to OCT 1st. You need the type whatever tag and a archery license.

To add to what ssliger said, go to the bottom of the tables in the regs to look at the archery stuff. It is page 5-9 in that link I posted. That's where it will tell you which units you can archery hunt and when you can do it.

You have to be careful with WY, especially for elk. Some guys just put in for the Type 1 tag with the assumption that they can just buy the archery stamp and go bowhunting in September. That isn't allowed in some units so they are very surprised when they find that out...
