This is for you Ultra mag guys!!
It's a Rem Action trued and lightened, HS Sporter with cheek piece, Krieger #5 contour 1-10 twist 4 groove cut at 27", Timney Trigger, Leupold Mark 4 6.5-20x50mm TMR, weighs 10.5 lbs with 3 shells, shoots 3 shot groups in the .3-.4 range with 200 gr accubonds, I use to shoot deer with it but its a little to much in my opinion.

Woodtick,
That's wicked ! You are a bigger nut than me ! That should put an elk in the Hurt Locker. I forgot to say what scope I had. It's a
6x24x50 Burris Black Diamond. I'll edit...The only picture I had handy with rifle in it. LOL ! Took a pic of it and attached it.

My first kill was with a savage 99 lever action in .308 passed down to me from my uncle.
I'm using a remington 700 in 30-06 for now.
Looking hard at the .260 Rem cartridge for future deer/antelope hunting.

I've got a few I have no problem taking, but have 2 that are safe queens dedicated to hunting out of state:

Remington 700 AWR 300WBY 180gr Accubond
Remington 700 AWR II 300RUM 208gr AMAX

That said, I shot my last deer with a Remington 700 XCR I 270WSM w/ 140gr Accubonds.

Mine is currently at the gunsmith. 1965 model 70 .264 winchester mag. Bell and carlson stock. Vortex hs rifle scope,Talley lightweight rings. Every ounce of extra metal has been milled down for weight purpose. Having the bolt fluted currently, and the entire gun cerakoted (spelling?) a brown tint to match the stock. Was my grandfathers rifle back in the day. Needed some updating so I sold a couple rifles to fund the rebuild. Very anxious about getting it back and start building some loads for it.

Springfield M1A Scout Squad with a Springfield-labelled scope that came with it, it's my general purpose rifle. Shooting 150g Federal Vital-Shok copper, I sight and practice with 150g surplus, so I use the 150 hunting rounds to avoid having to re-zero for hunting.

Next mule deer hunt (hopefully this fall...) will be done with my Tikka T3 .300 Winny shooting 180 grain Winchester ballistic tips topped with a Vortex Viper 4-16x50mm with a BDC reticle. Otherwise I have a .243 shooting 100 grain remingtons for backup gun.

Remington 721 300 H&H Magnum it is the killingest cartridge i have found I shoot Berger 190 VLD bullet out of it, and I also tote a custom Remington 700 25-06 Ackley improved with a 26" Douglass Supreme barrel, HS Precision stock and jewell trigger it seems to do the job as well
