What To Do With A Dead Coyote?

Just curious what most do with the dogs once they're dead? Not judging here, if you leave em' lay then thats fine with me. Mostly just wondering if there was much of a use for them other than skinning them. I know you can sell the pelts, but anything else?

I let mine lay, the pelt is not worth enough money to skin down here.

Usually leave them. Or if we get one on the ranch, we call the ranch hand up and he takes the tail and teeth, then sells them.

Leave them after a few photos. My kid likes to take their tails home and chase the wife around with them so I can't say no to that! Lol

If I want one to tan for a friend or someone special then I keep it and skin it out. I have a buddy who traps and depends on that income to get him through the winters and since they have been bringing about $60.00 each now, I give them to him.

I usually cut their tall off and save it. You can easily split the skin down the tail a ways and pull out the flesh and bones. Put borax on the skin. After I've had one for a year or so, I throw it away. Most of the reward is in the hunt and calling one in.

I got 20 bucks for just skinning mine out. Not even fleshed and dried. Whole I don't think I'd have got much less. The fur buyer I sell to just told me that if I can't get it to him that day just freeze it and let it thaw the day before I bring it to him. Easy 20 bucks.

I had one tanned and it is on the wall. Another I had tanned and a friend made a hat for me. My wife even wore it when we were at a December packer game a few years ago. It is very warm. There were quite a few fur hats in the stands.
