I use the Timberline and the mountain pants. I really like them both but the Timberline pants are my favorite. Why do you want goretex?

I have found goretex to be pretty noisy. Are you hunting in a rainy area? I find that many of the newer fabrics dry out pretty fast ,are way more comfortable and not as hot.

I don't have Sitka, I have Kuiu attack pants and they are water resistant. They are great to hunt in and dry fast. That said, they are no match IMO for the pants with goretex lining in AK, OR or areas where you'll be pushing through wet brush in late season. I wore mine last year opening day OR deer and was soaked in no time.(I didn't pack my rain pants, because I was close to home which was a bad move) It made for a miserable day! I'd recommend either getting the 4way stretch goretex or get the light weight pants of choice and carry a super light pair of pull over rain pants in your pack. Depending on the weather outlook I use both methods and both work well. If I know it's gonna be wet all day I just go with the goretex. If it's iffy I wear the ligtweight attacks and pack the pullover rain pants just in case. Getting soaked to the bone way out can get dangerous quick if you get in a situation that you'll have to stay overnight in the brush.

The Sitka pants and tops seem to run a touch on the small side. I wear a 33s in Levis and the 34s fit perfect with merino wool boxers and a pair of long med weight merino wool base layer. These Sitka pants are water resistant not water proof but the coating on the lower legs knees and rear is waterproof.

What terrain will you be hunting? Season? Expected precipitation?

Layers are the key. Get the Timberlines if you are set on Sitka

What elevation are you thinking you will hunt? Does the last 3 years precipitation levelsmerit the use of something like the cold front pant?

Are you experienced hunting the West or is this the first trip? Just trying to get the big picture.

Like someone else said their product line runs small,I normally wear an xl and had to go to a 2xl for my Sitka pants, but I got the 90% pants and liked them so much that when I had the chance I bought another,I also use merino wool under themwhen it gets cold and use the 190ties, for high 30ties to 40ties and the 240 ties when colder than mid thirties, probably off on the number ratio for the merino wools but you get the idea.

I have hunted the last few years in SD mule deer and plan to make more trips elk in co , wy and MT . I already have alot of cabelas outfitter wool paints and other out fits but nothing that is a all condition including rain. I picked up the cold front jacket recently on ebay for a good deal. So was thinking get the same pant. Is there a neg to the cold front compared to the timber line. like the knees and but on the timber line but if rains , wet grass or snow would worry. Thanks for input and help .

You are going to sweat like crazy with the cold fronts.
Got a question Scott. Just got a pair of Timberlines. Also have a pair of 90%. Which do you prefer for opening week of archery in CO? I also need a good packable rain jacket and just found out the Sitka is on backorder. Need a plan B. Any ideas?
