Not interested in brands just what type of camo patterns.

Hardwoods, sage brush, digital and so on.

I know that it will be more base on your location but I?m curious if there are a couple patterns that can work in many different types of terrain and you opinions on those that do.

I like bottomland camo and mossy oak break up.

I'm a big advocate of 3D Ghilli Suits. It was a game changer on turkeys for me.

I used to be big on camo, but now not so much. I am not terribly concerned about the pattern, and the more I hunt, the more I have moved back to solid patterns in earth tones where I can use the gear for other activities.

Another reason for moving to solids is that we hunt more and more in areas that have a strong liberal population (like certain areas of Colorado or Arizona come to mind) and I really don't want to stand out when I am in town buying groceries, at a restaurant for dinner after a day of hunting or leaving a hotel room early in the morning. For example, last year we based a Colorado deer hunt out of a condo in a ski town. No one bats an eye if you are in solid color outdoor gear.

Part of my shift has been the difficulty in getting quality camo gear for my wife, but I can get earth tone solids for her. In our hunts together, I have never seen that camo made the difference in a hunt.

All that said...if you are a camo guy, I think you should generally pick the pattern you like as I doubt the pattern will make much of a difference. If you want to be more critical in your selection, go tans for desert and greens for forest hunts.

In pretty much every situation I can think where camo might have made the difference, I think avoiding movement was far more critical.

I don't make a point to wear camo unless I'm bow hunting, but my favorite patterns are the mossy oak brush and outfitter camo on my wool coat.

I have nothing against using camo but do not find it to be necessary.

anything earthtone will work just fine.

I do avoid solid pattern clothes.

I always get a chuckle when I see hunters with camo, also wearing a blaze orange vest or hat.
I find the orange law, to be a law of utter and complete stupidity, put in place by stupid people.

I disagree, orange is good, it lets you know where people are.

The first pattern is still the best. Woodland. Green in the warmer parts of the year and brown in the winter. I wish more companies offered it as its hard to find anymore

I have a large selection of camo patterns and colors. I take several along and the ones that blend the best are what I use. Camo colors/patterns can change dramatically from summer to fall to winter. Obviously no camo works great in snow unless it is white! One thing I've noticed is around 95% of hunters use the same pattern/colors on their tops vs pants. It makes no sense to me since most game is terrified of the human outline? I always wear different colors on top and bottom that break up my human form. I'm red-green-orange colorblind. The thing I've noticed that stands out is light colors against a dark background or visa-versa.

Like JimSS, I'm a big fan of mixing up camo patterns...never wear same camo on top and on bottom. Just doesn't look right to me.

Got some Attack pants in major brown this fall, and surprised how well I blended in to the Nebraska Sandhills during rifle season. That brown was about the perfect color out there.

Favorite is probably Cabela's System's waterfowl parka, gore-tex with thinsulate zip in liner. It's Mossy Oak Shadow Grass and seems to blend in everywhere I hunt. Cordura exterior isn't very quiet, but it's super durable and my favorite coat hands down.

I like ASAT. I have the leafy suit but mainly just wear the top. I like the FirstLite wool since it comes in ASAT. I also have KUIU and Sitka but wear the KUIU since I like the VIAS camo better. This system works for me.

I use mostly solid bottoms find either the green or brown first lite ones work great.

My top is still a old outfitter cabela's pattern just seems to work in a lot of terrain.

I just wear what I put on. Most of my pants are military BDU's in woodland cammo and my shirts are a woodland advantage. I figure what I don't spend on all the new styles of ammo I can use to buy more equipment or go on trips.
