I have tried a few different packs over the years. I had a badlands 2200 that I loved but the waist belt is not made for smaller guys (waist size 30) and I can't winch it down right enough to take the weight off my shoulders. Then I got a eberlestock blue widow. I loved it until you tried to put a load in it. The load lifters are non functional and it was hell on my shoulders with a little bit of weight in it. So I decided to drop some cash and sold both packs and bought a Mystery Ranch metcalf with the nice frame. Wow what a big difference it was, especially with a lot of weight in it. If you are going to use a pack a lot I would try them on with 50lbs of weight in them and see what feels the best.
