Curious to see what everyones thoughts are as to the best value for handheld gps units for hunting? What has the best topo features, the best trailing, etc?

I bought a Garmin GPSMAP60CSX right before they released the next models and it works very well and could probably be had for $200. If you're looking for the best-best u might check into the Garmin Montana which I'm not sure is even released yet. They're topo, and shaded relief maps look SWEET. I also purchased public/private boundary maps from huntinggpsmaps.com for some areas that I hunt in Wyoming where they are bordered by a ranch here and there and you're never quite sure if you're in the right or not . . . now I know for sure.

I use a Garmin Rhino 530 HCX. I love it and does all I could ask for. I just went to the Garmin website and saw the new release of the rhino touch and it looks pretty sweet. I would say stick with Garmin though. Best product for your money.

I just got the Garmin Oregon 450 coupled with a BLM Plat Map from http://www.huntinggpsmaps.com/ This is the ultimate tool for me. I've literally found new places to hunt in the area I've hunted for years because I've found new ways to skirt around private land to get onto chucks of BLM that basically nobody would be on. I used to guess with a 7.5min topo in one hand and my old sams club lowrance gps from 2003. Now there is no guessing.

is it possible to download google earth maps on the garmin oregon?
Yes. 1 year later it is possible. Try to search for .jnx format or send me pm.
I am actively using my Oregon 450 with 16Gb micro sd card for hiking.
It is much easier to use google map instead of google earth with almost the same quality.
