What do you guys value the most in a 2P backpacking tent or shelter?

I love having the room for my gear and a place to cook. If the weather has been bad I can get in and take my boots off inside without getting everything dirty.

I have had no where near the amount of experience as anyone else here but I had a 2P tent once that was a Kelly that I used around here and I liked the style of rain fly that had a pretty large vestibule on each side and entry on both sides to either put gear under one side and could cook on the other side

Not a ton of experience here either, but FWIW I like that you can kind of stay away from the walls if your tent builds condensation inside..also as mentioned, you can move around a little more and stash your gear if it's raining.

I run a go lite sl3. Works well for me. My wife doesn't do floor less so I stuff the best in her pack when she comes. It splits the weight well between us.

i like a tent that is free standing and a good vestibule .....as far as floor-less goes im not a fan of snakes and i have found some as high as 8000 so i like a floor ...also helps stuff from falling out if your not on flat ground

I use a 2p tent. I do not have much experience in the backcountry but am not a fan of snakes and didn't want other little creatures welcoming them selves in or near me during the night. I mainly wanted the extra room for gear in case of extended periods of rain. Also being from Minnesota, if I were to use the tent here we have misquotes very bad and like the enclosure of a tent.
Guy just sent me a picture of his tent, it's a Hilleberg Allak. Any of you Hilleberg fans? I am thinking about getting an Akto to use solo on some trips.

For a 2 man tent, I like a tent that actually holds 2 guys... Otherwise, I'd just rather use a 1 man tent.
My hunting partner has a BA fly creek 2 man, and there's no way on earth the two of us can fit in that thing, but, he does have plenty of room for all his gear, including his bow. In my BA fly creek 1 man, I have enough room for my pack and boots in my vestibule, but the bow has to live outside.

I have the Hilleberg nallo 3 gt. It's fantastic. Perfect for two guys and gear. Holds up well in wind and heavy snow.

I use the ul2. I need 3 things a) lightweight b)100 percent waterproof c) a good size storage area for gear and cooking. That tent gives me all 3, plus it stands up to some serious wind in thunderstorms. Big Agnes stuff is the S$%T!

I really like the ability to attach a vestibule if your going for longer than normal periods and plenty of guy lines for high winds!!

Last year I used my one man because of a damaged two man and really missed my two man tent. I couldn't fit my pack or bow in the tent and had to leave it under a tarp. It would have been nice to have my gear and bow in the tent. It rained for two straight day and getting in and out without the vestibule sucked. I would have liked to cook in the tent when I got back to camp. The end of last year I solved that problem and got a new BA Copper Spur UL2. I have already used it twice and its nice to have the space again.
