What do you do, or did do, for a living?

Alaska or Colorado or Nevada
I joined the Navy in 74, got out a few years later because my only options were the USS Forrestal or the USS Forrestal. Went to school for 8 years, worked as a strength coach for awhile, then went back in the Navy. I got tired of the politics involved at Div I schools, and the Navy offered basic flight school (only 8 weeks worth for my specialty), plus a chance to continue my profession. I retired in 2007.

How about the rest of you?

Did 7 years in the Army, got out in 2006 then got my BS in Wildlife Biology from University of Wyoming in 2010. Been working as a technician on different elk projects since then. Not bad getting paid to run around the mountains of western Wyoming and watch elk, almost like getting paid to go scouting all week.

I had 32 years in the military - joined the National Guard in 1974, was hired full time a few years later. Put in a total of 32 years. Spent a year in Iraq (2004) and retired Jan 06. Moved to Wyoming last summer. I completed a taxidermy school a couple of years ago. Plan on getting a small business started sometime in the near future.

Wow! I am impressed with the military presence, thank you all for your service!! I spent 8 years in the National Guard '69-'77 but don't count it on the same level as you folks. Thanks again!

I work in a university as a researcher. I build drug molecules. Not exactly what most people expect from a guy who goes hunting 150+ days a year, but I like it.

Wow I am very impressed with the service of our forum people, my hat goes off to all of you, and I thank you for your fight to give me my freedom to hunt and enjoy the outdoors! I work for a communications company in a small town. Mainly splice fiber optics for fiber to the home.

I've worked on our family Mink / Cattle ranch all my life but for the last fifteen years I've also been working at a small independent telephone company here in Northern Utah. Right now I'm mostly selling bandwidth to businesses in our service areas. I'm on the tail end of raising four boys and enjoying life in the country.

I to grew up on a mink ranch until my teens, dad sold out in th late 80's. Since then I have done several different things. Guided in S. ID from 02-04, mostly archery elk hunts and had the time of my life. Married in 04 and had to get a "normal job" to make ends meet. Currently work in N. UT a for large breakfast cereal co., sit in a control room and moniter computer and control screens and try to stay awake.

I echo the respect and admiration paid above to all those who have served this country. Don't stone me - I work for local government as a HR Director/Attorney.

I began my law enforcement career 23 years ago as a state game warden......transferred to a major law enforcement agency in the area a year later. Liked being a warden.......but when I couldn't take vacation to go hunting (busy time for wardens), I decided to transfer. Been with my current department for 22 years now.

Hats off to those military members. I truly appreciate all you do.

I'm a Sr. Environmental Health Specialist for the Health Department. I head up a crew that conducts Zoonotic disease surveillance and abatement in the Las Vegas area.

We look for disease outbreaks in animals that have the ability to bridge the gap from animal to man, then eliminate the source if possible. This includes diseases like Plague, Hantavirus, West Nile Virus, Equine Encephalitis, Rabies, Raccoon Roundworm, etc. Been at it for 6 years and loving it.

Distribution Linemen for a utility in Wisconsin. Get to climb 80 year old power poles and play with voltages from 120 to 24.9kv, pretty decent job and it keeps you on your toes.
