What are your plans for Colorado?

It seems most hunts have already been planed or are in the process of getting finalized so I was wondering what folks are looking to hunt in Colorado 2017?

Deer, elk, moose, sheep, goat, or pronghorn with a bow, muzzy or rifle what will you be looking to draw? Always fun to see who will be out chasing animals this fall.

Or is it just a preference point year for you?

If tags get sliced in the basin I may be looking to roll the dice there. I need to watch the rebound preferences so it can be used later on down the road as things improve.

Still building points for deer after using all mine in 2015 for a 4th season tag. Also building points for elk, but will turn in for a 2nd choice M/L cow tag. Used all 14 of my antelope points last year, so a point there. I will also turn in for desert sheep & moose. My guess is I'l be hunt a cow during M/L season.

I put in for Wyoming LE draw and cow tag second choice. Will be putting in for LE archery in Montana and also put in for late season hunt in Arizona.I will also put in for LE deer in Wyoming. Utah points, Nevada points. I like Colorado cause if I don't draw and bull tags, right to Colorado I can go and hunt elk on OTC.

Burning my 15 NR deer points on a 4 th season rifle hunt not far from home. Then I'll probably be done with Colorado unless I win the lottery and can afford to use my 3 + 7 weighted moose PP. At least they give us 10 years to apply and keep them.

Burning 13 PP (hopefully) on a 4th season deer hunt. Tried last year with 12 PP, only 2 out of 4 NR applicants with 12 points drew...and it wasn't us! Then looking for a spot to go every year or every other year...hunting is more fun than collecting points.

Points only this year, will probably burn both elk and deer points within the next few years, I have more than enough for all of the units I'm looking at, for both species.

Going to burn my 15 elk points for archery elk. Looking right now online for the biologist contact info to get some opinion on winter-kill before I apply. Elk usually are not bad but with snowfall at 150 percent, and this being a tag I will never be able to draw again with the current PP system I want investigate the best I can.

Going to try and draw 2nd choice archery deer tag and still undecided on which elk hunt to do. Hoping my dad and brother will draw thier unit 40 elk tags this year so I can help them with that hunt. Good luck to all this year !

Muzzle loader in unit 44 for deer. I am not sure if I am even going to bother with a elk tag this year or not, I also might pick up a ML bear tag since there are so many of them around anymore.

PP for antelope and I gave up on the rest such as sheep, goats, and moose.

Tried to burn my deer points in 66 last year and my partner and I were the only two of ten in our point pool not to draw. Now another bad winter kill. So I'm planning to burn my 20 no man's land elk points instead this year, and see how the deer come out. This is if I fail to draw in WY, AZ, NM & UT.

Good luck on that Zim. I too am now looking elsewhere for a deer tag. I do have a guided elk hunt in WY, that we do have plenty of points for...will know on the 28th. If we had drawn that deer tag last year, then life would have aligned a lot better. I never intended to get this many points (10), but missed the draw 3 times, and my mistake was switching to "better" units that the odds said I could draw. So, it's an ER or muzzy deer tag in CO .....somewhere? For darn sure, I will only apply in an area where I have a couple points buffer as I don't see myself doing solo backpack hunts when I'm 75 or 80. Good luck to all (except those who are applying in "my unit".

Probably gain a PP archery deer unit 43, pick up an OTC Archery elk tag, bear tag, attempt for a private land antelope tag, pp in bighorn, mountain goat, and moose.
I don't get a ton of personal hunting in and will most likely be hunting the last week of archery with one of my clients.

I still plan on burning my points and going 4th season for deer. Of course that will depend on how things go with winter. I'm ready to go and hunt, so I can start going in an easier to draw unit.

Still trying to figure it out. My hunting partner is my 70 year old dad, so I can't keep just getting preference points. I've got 2 elk points, thinking maybe 66 1st rifle. I've got 19 deer points and have no idea what to do. Could possibly draw 66 4th? I've been trying to get in 44 but I'm always a couple points behind and just keep chasing. Still looking at the Colorado website, just takes a lot of time to go through all of it.
