Weatherby Trigger pull???

I will be sending my .300 Weatherby into Weatherby to get a Accubrake installed and I wanted them to adjust my trigger as well . I was looking for a more "crisp'' trigger pull. I have a Sub-Moa Vangard SS and the factory setting for the trigger seems a little heavy.

So I was looking for some imput to see what every one else is useing,and what they like for their trigger pounds? I belive the stock setting for Weatherby is 7 pounds and can be ajusted down to 3 pounds. I was thinking about going down to 3 pounds but wasn't sure if the trigger would be to sensitive? What do you guys think?

I like my hunting rifles right at 3 pounds.

I put my hunting rifles at 30-32oz. So 3 lbs isn't too light. Target rifles I set at16-20oz.

I have a browning xbolt set at 3 lbs and its good but could be a hair lighter.

As long as it's clean with no creep I think 3# is definitely light enough. I have a couple Vanguards and have them set as low as I can get them. One of them (the older one) need to be sent to an authorized dealer to have the creep removed, but it's very clean now.

If 3# is all it goes down to, I would have them take it all the way down. If it's too light, you can move it back up yourself (assuming it's the same trigger as the regular Vanguards. I lowered mine as much as it would go (safely) and it still isn't quite as low as I'd like it. If you have them do, definitely ask them to be sure to remove any creep! You sending the rifle to Atascadero?

2-3 lbs is were I have mine.

I have my guns set between 2-3lbs. My Elk Rifle is set at 2.25 but its a custum gun.

Thanks for all the input guys! It seems like most have the 3 pound range.

I have two sub-moa ss vanguards, one in .30-06 and the other .338 win mag. The triggers on the rifles are easily adjustable, I have mine set at 3 lbs. From what I read on the weatherby site, some of the springs on their triggers were not built to specs but they didn't catch it before rifles were shipped. You would think Howa would have better quality control in place. The rifles are very accurate but IMO are too heavy to carry up and down mountains.

My two Accumarks are both set at 2.5lbs. In fact all my hunting rifles are set between 2.0 and 2.5 lbs. I agree about the crispness of a trigger, you can get away with 3lbs if it has no creep.
