Wanting to bowhunt mule deer!!

I've never hunted the west before but am hoping to do so shortly. I'm starting to apply for points in states but was wondering if there are many OTC tags out there or places I could draw every other year. Thanks!

Idaho has OTC tags for Mule Deer. You used to be able to draw a tag in certain regions as a second choice in Wyoming, while still gaining points.

I'm very new to the whole point system and stuff so how do I go about getting an OTC tag or the Wyoming second choice?

If you go to a state that has OTC tags, you just go to a license selling location and buy it, usually sporting goods stores, Walmart, etc. As for Wyoming you put down a extremely tough tag to draw as your first choice, then look at the draw odds from the last year. You can see if there was more tags than first choice applicants, there would be tags left for second choice.

South Dakota has OTC tags kind of. You have to go to the licensing office in Pierre I think to just buy them. A better option is to buy them online from Game Fish and Parks.
