Hi everyone

First off a little about me. I'm from Wisconsin and new to the Eastman forum. My life revolves around hunting and fishing when I'm not working or hanging out with my 2yr old daughter. Only been out west on 1 mule deer hunt in wyoming and it was a general draw with tons of people and very few deer. Which is why I decided I needed to start collecting points.

Anyway. I now have 5 pp and they are burning a hole in my pocket. For both elk & deer.

I want to come out this year with my father in law which also has same amount of points. We decided mule deer is what we want to try for.

The question I have for you guys is Where and When would you go? The fourth season really has me interested. The cold weather would not bother me at all. I love hunting whitetails here in WI during our late season in Dec/Jan

I'm not looking for some B&C buck or anything. Just a decent buck or at least a chance at a decent buck

I talked to DOW and they said if I look at units/seasons that require 4 pp that I would have a good chance of drawing a tag ( if I understood them correctly)

So I look at the minimum pp required for a NR and for the 4th season and come up with GMU 80/81 AND GMU 25/26. (If I'm doing this right)

So does anybody on here have any input on these units or would you recommend something different. (Units or seasons)

By the way this would be a DIY hunt on public land

Public land access OK? etc etc etc.

ANY help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Thank you

Have any of you guys had problems getting ahold of the warden or biologist for any areas in Colorado?

I have 2 phone calls and 2 emails sent and apparently they don't want to talk to me.

Just stay patient on the biologists. I have talked to 5 or 6 this season but they always take a while to get back to you. They are also the wardens in the units and get busy.
