I'm going to buy a wall tent stove, looking to see what others have, and like.
I've got a 12x12 tent, primarily will use it in October/November in Wyoming, and will put lump coal in also. Also want a flat top to cook on, with a hot water side tank. Was going to get a 4 dog stove, but they changed all their designs, and prices, now I'm starting from scratch.

Mr buddy big heater and a 10 gal propane tank. It will run you out of the tent on high and it has low oxy shut off and a fan. Run one in my 12 x14 and love it. I do take a cheap tin stove to camp as backup but it's never left the trailer.

So this is what I've been doing, but I about died last year do to a propane leak, so going a different route.

My plan is use the propane while awake, have a small fire in the wood stove, then when I go to sleep kill the propane, and throw some lump coal in the stove for the night.

Sorry to hear that . We had a leak on a propane tree in the cook tent last year but found it when i checked connections with soapy water. My tank for sits out side and I run a 10 foot hose. I check all connections and take a co2 detector just to be safe too. We do have tanks inside the cook tent but we double check that valves are off before leaving camp or sleeping. I run those costco led lanterns in our sleeping tent. One of our party does the wood stove and I hate waking up cold, and sence im camp cook I don't get up till its warm lol.

Was going to order one in July, and pick it up in person in September, but on to plan b.
That's really weird. Web page still has articles about the Four Dog and Five Dog stoves......but only the titanium models on the pull down. I wonder if the web page is messed up. Did you call him to see if he still makes them? Id be surprised if he went to only making titanium stoves ( due to the price point)......but stranger things have happened.

It's possible, and worth a call this week to see.
Website changed about 3 months to the titanium only, been holding out because I had the exact thought that icouldn't believe that they did away with all the other models, but nothing's changed.
Let you know what they say next week.

I think its worth the effort....hands down my Four Dog is the best built, best drafting, easiest starting stove I have had my hands on.
Its like a jet engine when it starts. IMO.

Forget propane. Wood is free and you never run out. I have had several stoves over the last 40 years and all have been serviceable. You need a good damper and good seal on the door. I have used the water tank a few times but never owned one. For coal put some sand in the bottom of your stove and it will last longer.

I lived in my wall tent a few times for a month or more running tree planting crews. When it snowed, the Flagstaff Hilton became very popular. Nothing like it. I have winter tent parties in my backyard campsite to this day.
