W Murders Creek Elk

After a few years in Coast Range I am finally able to head to East side for Elk. We drew W Murders Creek and are hoping for a few pointers on where to camp and hike in from. Thanks in advance.

Start scouting, call the area biologist or warden.

I have only been to that area once and I was just out on a drive. I know guys that used to hunt it but don't anymore because the numbers were way down. The terrain can be anything from nice easy fairly flat forest to steep rocky forest depending on where you hunt. We turned off at the starr campground south of John Day. Didn't see any elk but it was mid-day and like I said just out for a drive and seeing new country. Good Luck

Welcome Adam. Information like that usually comes as a result of cultivating relationships on the forum and for those easier to draw areas, usually though private conversations. I'd suggest starting over in the new members section and then helping others with information on the various topics currently being discussed.
