Hello...
where to begin?? ok on 5/11/21 noticed CC hit for 413.00 also one for 80.00. going into the application period myself having 21 pts for buffalo archery book cliffs assuming it was me. later that day received the email and noticed it was Unsuccessful. Only one option left it was for my wife on a moose what a surprise.. Very nice though. Other is for general season deer for both of us. should be great year. shifting gears now from bison tactics to Moose. Not having to much experience with Moose other than encounters here and there all of which have been completely amazing. It would be of great assistance for any information as to how to begin. Thank you in advance. SW

What unit?

Once you find a bull you will find out that all the other hunters in the unit have found the same bull.

Best advise is to shoot it near a road.

I have not hunted the area so take what I say with that in mind. I did a quick google earth scout of the property and minimal online reading. I don't think this ranch will have many, if any, resident moose. This ranch appears to be fairly low elevation which would be more typical winter range for moose. I think your best chance to harvest is likely going to be later in the season after some of the surrounding high country receives snow. Hopefully someone with boots on the ground experience can offer more help. Good luck!

Talk to the ranch operator, other than that you need to find someone who had that tag before and talk to them

Please let us know how it goes. Moose tags are pretty rare so we all love to live vicariously through the people lucky enough to draw. Again, Good luck to you guys.

Congratulations to your wife on the moose tag. Lots of good advice from Hilltop/Jimp.

I would add to watch some videos on calling moose and practice to be ready for hunting season. Its not hard to do, you can just use your hands and don't even have to buy a call. I had a moose tag in 2017 on Jacobs Creek CWMU above Lagoon Amusement Park in Farmington Canyon. I only had 5 days to hunt and was not allowed to pre scout the area, so calling was our most effective method of finding the moose. Calling near water seems to help, not sure if it amplifies or carries the sounds or what. Over half the moose we saw we called in. This was in October during the rut and they were very responsive to our novice callings sounds. I was amazed how vocal they were and had several cows and 1 smaller bull kept coming into shooting range multiple times on different days for us. We only saw 2 big bulls that were 38 inch or better and they had cows with them. They responded to us and moved some, but ultimately they didn't leave their hot cows and we could never get into position to get a shot on them. So I took the smaller bull on the last day because he kept coming into to our calls.

Best of luck, hope its the hunt of a lifetime for your wife.
