I don't know what to do, The elk herds aren't what they were a few years ago.
I didn't mention this in my previous post, but your reasoning above also played into my decision. At present, Utah is not managing elk like they did 10 years ago. They are giving out more tags in the LE areas which, while all well and good, is leading to a decline in some of the quality that we've become used to in the last decade or so. So, the longer you wait, there is the potential that quality will be less than it is now. If you want an absolute stud bull, the top units will probably stay roughly the same, but the middle tier units may suffer. I just wasn't willing to wait for a top unit and just wanted to hunt a good unit.

I'd question the CWMU route. With that many points / years invested, I'd hate to throw them all into a 5-day hunt that you can't scout for in advance. If you have good intel, then no doubt it could be a good hunt, BUT I'd make sure it's rock solid. If not, and you draw the tag, you just shortened your season by 4 days with no scouting.

I agree MW, Utah is back to screwing the dog on our hunting. I don't think they could manage an fire drill. I think ill just go for a bonus point this year. Maybe the next couple. I don't have the money to put into a good hunt yet anyways with my whore of an exwife screwin me on child support.
