I just checked the Hunt Expo website and discovered I won a 2012 Book Cliffs elk tag for this year. I have never been there and would appreciate any guidance to the area.

Used to know a guy when I lived in calif who hunted Books Cliffs a lot. Said it was really great. Not exactually sure, but remember he was mostly a deer hunter.Good Luck!!

Wow! That's a good tag to win! I've hunted the book cliffs with an uncle and he took a nice bull. Lots of elk around, more like shopping for the one you want and hoping you don't pass up to many and end up with nothing on the last day!. I apply for a book cliffs tag every year too. Good luck!

I won a Book Cliffs Roadless elk tag at the Sportsman's Convention 2009. I have a friend that lives in Moab close to the Book's. He takes his mules in there all the time to camp,shed hunt, etc.. He and his bother with his mules also packed me in for the hunt for free because that's what they like to do.. I drew a Book Cliffs deer tag in 2004 and he drew a Book's Roadless elk tag also in 2004. A great hunt and shouldn't have any problem finding elk. Lots of bears too.
