Guys,

I drew this tag in the random draw. I am looking for someone else who may have drawn it and would like to possible partner up for the hunt or just have a contact in the area in case of emergency.

I am als looking for any info I can on the unit from people who have hunted it. I know there are alot of griz in this unit and I have prior experience hunting in griz country. Yes they scare the hell out of me but I will not let that keep me from hunting where they live. Is the area conducive to horse back hunting? Does it make sense to camp by the road or do I need to pack in?

Thanks, Kelly

Horses would be great! I'd probably use them to get a camp in off the roads, but you will have enough mobility with them to camp on the road and ride them in. The area we hunted was beautiful! You should have a great time, but there ARE grizz in there, so be smart.

We hunted the last two days of bow season, then the rifle season. When we go back, we'll probably just bow hunt.
We had a wall tent camp off the road, and 4 wheelers. It was nice to have the mobility, but next time we are planning to hike in or at least be prepared to if the hunting slows down around camp. Our dad and a couple buddies went along to camp and sightsee, so we didn't even consider spiking out. So we never got really deep, maybe 2-3 miles in...lots of ground to cover and we were jealous of everyone we saw with horses! I
