My son in law found out he has drawn this tag,and i was looking for info. if anyone has hunted this unit recently. We are going to start scouting in the next couple of weeks,and we were thinking of hunting the last week of the season for the best rutting activity. He also drew unit 48 for a bull which also opens October 15. Hoping to kill his bull first,and then spend the rest of the week or ten days focusing on the buck. Looks like a lot of private,but also enough public land. We live in Boise,which is fortunate. Any help would be appreciated, Thank you

no kidding . congrats!I don't get up there much anymore, but if you can get permission to some of the private along the hill city road , I would go there . there is a man named mcallum owns a big chunk on south side of hill city road about a mile or two east of bennett mtn rd. can't say as to wether or not he would let you hunt but it'd be worth asking
hunted there about 20 years ago when another guy owned it and it was awesome.don't remember seeing so many bucks on any hunt before or since.lotta dinks but there be big bucks, also.
pic is of buck right off bennett mtn rd last year, end of august or so. and yes, he was on public ground
