My bro and myself shot these bucks within 30 minutes of each other on our last day of the Colorado muzzle loader season. I hunted hard for 8 days and blew a couple of stalks on some really big mule deer. I couldn't pass this buck up on the last morning. My brother shot a much bigger buck than myself. Nothing is better than hunting mulies in the high country. I am blessed to have filled my cow tag and buck tag and still have a doe and bull tag during the 3rd rifle season.

I hunted for 8 days and my bro for 6. Its funny, I was trying to talk myself out of getting up that morning after a long week. I told myself you will regret not getting up for the next 51 weeks so I did and it all worked out. Back pack hunting in the high country can be lonely and rough but I wouldn't trade it for anything. Thanks for the good comments guys and good luck to you all the rest of the fall. I can't wait for my November bull elf hunt!

After getting my deer on day 3, my hunting partner smacked his mule deer in the last 5 minutes of hunting this September. They're just a little sweeter when you're down to the wire! Congrats on two nice mulies in crunch time.
