I had no idea. That one in the picture looks great. What is it made of?
I had a fiberglass topper on a pickup many years ago. I didn't like them because anything I want to get out always seemed to be in the front part of it LOL! I have a flip up bed cover (in 4 pieces that folds up) that I like really well.

Yeah, that's what is appealing about this one it has access on both sides. They are made of aluminum or stainless steel; I need one that also has vents or sliders in the side widows for hauling dogs. I have found three that fit that need. They have all kinds of options for Molle attachments.
Yeah, I have never done that. However, it might be what I do if I don't do the Excursion/Suburban thing in the other thread.

Ive hunted out of the back of my truck a lot over the years. I have a Leer canopy that the windows on the side flip up. It’s not a bad way to go and be super mobile. 
I got quotes for a Leer and A.R.E and they were around $4000 to start. Having side access is really nice since inevitably you need something in the front. I do try to pack for that occasion though. Thanks for your input! I may very well end up with one.

Damn! I only paid $11,500 for the truck with the canopy back in 2008. Stuff is stupid expensive now

Yep....you can easily spend over $100,000 on a truck and cabover camper.

In 1975 I bought a new Chevy 3/4 , 4x4 pickup AND a new custom built cabover camper for around $8,000. I know it was a long time ago, but at the same time I was buying a home and I owned a 24" trailer boat. ........and I still saved money.

It’s too bad they’ve overcomplicated modern day vehicles if I could buy one without all the electronic BS on them I would consider it, but all I really want power windows and AC. The rest is pure excess.

I rented a Ford SUV last winter for a trip and it would vibrate when I got too close to the fog line. It took me about 50 miles to figure out what the hell was wrong with it. I hate when a car tries to tell me how to drive.

I was recently thinking about getting rid of my F350 diesel 4x4 crew cab now that I am selling my travel trailer. I was considering a f150 or a Ranger. The only transmission you can get is a 10 speed. It is always hunting and shifting gears so you get the best mileage per the computer. All the extras are prepackaged, so if I don't want something (like the better sound system) you can't just eliminate only it from the package.
I am going to keep my F350 until I die or they take my license away from me. (I am almost 85 and I just renewed it for another 5 years!!!)

My uncle drove his car until he was 100, and only quit when he couldn't get in or out by himself. He did self restrict himself though as his eyesight started to fail. The old WWII vet is still going at 101. So, CC you can just "Keep on trucking".
