Hi Folks,
I am planning my very first Western hunt for Mule Deer this Fall. I will be hunting SE Idaho and I'm gearing up and making my lists, etc. I recently purchased a Redfield 20-60x80 Spotting Scope. I plan on packing it with me during our hunt (Day-trips; not overnight backcountry). It came with a small Tripod, but only extends to about 18 inches tall...so that got me thinking:
How useful is that small of a tripod going to be? Seems like any bush or tree in front of you will make it difficult to see over it.
Can anyone out there recommend a tripod that would be better suited? Im not sure how tall I need it to go...I would assume eye level in case I need to stand while spotting? Ive also read some come with a quick detach/attach shooting rest; any thoughts or experience with this?
Thanks!
