We've done VRBO here in FL - they usually ask you to pay for damage insurance. Been a couple of years since we've done it tho.

Which part of the kenai are you staying on? the upper or lower?
the upper is in the mountains, the lower looks at the mountains.

Can a guy rent a set of waders and fishing equipment local? I have all the the stuff but can't take it. Guess I could buy and try to sell before I leave.
Not sure about that that, BUT we took a bunch of extra stuff and instead of bringing it home as excess baggage, we shipped it home via UPS. We took frozen fish home as our #50 per person allotment for checked in baggage on Alaska Air.

I travel to Alaska on a fairly regular basis. It’s a lot cheaper to pay excess baggage fees on airlines rather than sending up and/or back any other way. The other nice thing is that it is waiting for you still frozen at the airport. Last trip I paid $50 each to ship 5 x 50lb insulated fish boxes. I bought the boxes at Walmart in anchorage. You can have your fish cut up, shrink wrapped, and speedy frozen in a matter of a couple hours at the better processors.
