I was going to but don't think I can make it now. Work like usual is getting in the way of play.

If you guys are on Face Book Scott Carr started a page that has guys that train to hunt and many other athlete based archery challenges.

It's called Hammer and Chisel for the Hunter. He is not selling anything or trying to get guys to sign up for anything just a group of guys that post their workouts and it's a motivational type of group to keep guys working toward their individual goals.

Hey I finally got some time to visit this Forum. For anyone on the fence about trying out TTH I recommend jumping in wherever you can. Its been a life changer for me and some of my very best friends I've met through TTH. You wont be disappointed!

I can't wait for it, nervous but excited! Now that Trent isn't doing it I won't know anyone here in NV, hopefully will make some friends.

are we required to use hunting packs for the mountain course carrying the sand bag or can we use our meat packs? I'm trying to decide which id prefer to use.

You can use whatever you're comfortable with. I would recommend using something that you can secure the weight in a way that it does not bounce or shift while navigating the course.

The TTH was by far one of the coolest things I've ever done as far as pushing my self physicaly. I will indeed make it an annual thing. People showed up in numbers; competitors and family and friends hit the chair lifts to the top at 10'000 to enjoy a beautiful view over powder horn resort. The atmosphere, while competitive, was very friendly and everyone was supporting and cheering on everyone. Meeting as strangers and leaving as friends was not uncommon for anyone. I recomend everyone to sign up and do one of these. Don't let the shape your in stop you. Let it be your motivator to get back in shape. The goal focus is to get you mountain ready and that's what we all want. Ikeepitcold and Scott from hammer and chisel for the hunter and that group was vital to me for training. I didn't win any prizes or find my self on a podium but it was a huge success for me to be amongst some incredible athletes and holding my own Thanks to the support given by competitors and groups on face book and Eastmans for encouraging ethical fair chase hunting.

I was going to if there was one closer to home. Won't have alot of free time this next summer. Might try a Spartan in Boise or salt lake.

The Spartan races look pretty cool too. Takes out the Archery side of things but the courses look intense.
