Tikka T3 Lite

So I've decided to go with the Tikka T3 Lite in 300 win as my pack gun. I'll put a muzzle brake and a Sims recoil pad on it to help with the mule kick I'm going to get from it and thinking of the Vortex HS-T 6-24x50 scope.

Should be a good set up. I'm kinda waiting for it to go on sale at the Sportsmans or the other big names before I pick it up.

Thats a great choice. I really like my T3 .300wm. Its my pack gun as well. Decent on weight without breaking the bank. Tikka's have a good reputation for accuracy. Mine prefers Nosler Partitions.

Sounds like a great setup. I've thought about getting the 300 win mag as well, but figured it would kick pretty hard. Never considered the muzzle brake but I'll bet it will work great.

I have 2 Tikka T3's. A .270 win and a 7MM Rem mag and shoot Partitions or Sierra Game Kings out of them.

I've been really happy with both Tikka T3's. Hope yours also shoots well.

In my opinion it's a really good choice. I really like my both my 300 win mag. neither are a Tikka T3 but they are great shooters ! You should love this rifle !

I decided on the 300 win because I have another 300 and hope the tikka likes the same ammo. My hope is not to buy differant brands or weights for each rifle.

Awesome setup, that's almost exactly what I just put together, I also considered that same scope but went with a good deal on zeiss.

I was also worried about the kick so I started with only a sims pad. Not bad at all! I don't know why there is so much fuss about the kick because I was pleasantly surprised at the lack of. Now I'm glad I didn't do the brake and will keep my hearing.

I'm a believer in brakes. I should have the new rifle in a week or so. I did go with the Vortex HS-LR 6-24x50 but it is back ordered. Hope to get it together soon.

You go with the moa or mil? I've been playing with the mil hst once you chrono and get some speeds figured out look out! Those turrets just hang out up there screaming "twist me! Let's go long!!" Took me a bit to figure out the mil system, can't say that I still fully understand it. But once you get the swing it's all the same for the most part. I run the "bullet drop" app and it seems to run pretty true.

Both my hunting partner and I will be taking our Tikka's on our WY deer hunt this year. I have some nice rifles, but after abusing the Browning A-bolt in the mountains, have never regretted switching to the T3 SS Lite. Mine is in 30-06, and it planted four deer that year. Recoil is a non issue. My bro-in-law has one in 300wsm, and complained about the recoil, but did add a brake which seemed to satisfy him. I do have a brake on my 338 Win. Super Grade. After a lot of shooting, and even working up thru some reloads, I found that my Tikka loves to shoot Rem. CoreLokt best of all. It's hard to feel bad about using $18 a box ammo. Mine has a Shepard scope on it. I hope to see you in the mountains some day Ikeepitcold.

I just took possession of a T3 Superlite in 7 mm Rem Mag and couldn't be happier with it. I bought a Viper HS-LR 4-16x44 with Vortex precision matched rings for it, with Mountain Tactical 20 moa rail. It has a decent amount of kick, but not unpleasant. It will get a workout this fall with hand loaded 160 grain Gamekings.

I just picked up a used Tikka 695 in .270 win. First experience with Tikka and I'm very pleased with the quality of components and workmanship. Bolt is super slick. Rifle is a bit heavy but that can be an advantage when it comes time to take the shot. A rifle with a little weight is more forgiving for a steady hold and less affected by the constant wind while hunting the open country. May look for a Tikka Lite in a small caliber as a 'yote rifle.

Sweet guns. I have two lefty T3 Lites, one in .270 and one in 30-06. I like having the same feel in both guns. Both shoot lights out with factory ammo. I had to try a few different loads in each one to see what they liked, but both shoot better than I ever could.

Mine came in today and is at the smith getting the brake put on. Now I just need my Vortex to show up from back order and I'll be at the range.
