GK, the new one is the T3x. Has a metal bolt shroud, several stock improvements, ejection port change, another scope mount base screw hole I think, and probably a few others I have forgot. They have the info on-line. Have not handled one, but when they go on sale for just a bit over $600, I may have to have one.
All that does sound interesting - Have they improved the recoil pad ? It never has ceased to amaze me how many manufacturers factory offer a "concrete" pad !

Haha, ya, agree, may as well make it out of metal I guess. Yes, now you say that, I recall they say it has an improved recoil pad. There was a list on their web site, if your curious. For me, I don't shoot magnum rifle cartridges, so have not done anything to mine but use different bases/rimgs. That said, my first one worked perfectly for many years using the factory rings.

I agree that the factory rings should be adequate if installed to specs (too much time on my hands ....) My superlight '06 which is now a "superlight '06 AI" has become my "go to" for anything that contains "big game" in the title My son just picked up a Sako A7 Cabela's "special" 300 Win Mag with a B&C stock for a very good price so I'll be working up loads for it as soon as I get my new loading room set up - I'm antsy to get started

I own a m695 in 30-06. Most accurate rifle I've ever shot. Get offers for it all the time not for sale. Great guns

Finally got all my stuff around. Just gotta get some shells loaded up. A buddy of mine swears by those Tubbs break-in bullets, so I've kind of been waiting to get together with him and load some up first. You ever use any? If not, looks like I wasted my time and money!

Tikka

I have a Tikka t3 lite stainless 300 wm. It is a good shooting rifle. It shoots 180 and 200 grain accubonds. And 210 grain Bergers well. Here is sum pics of 210 bergers groups. These were my first attempts at theseIMG_0971.jpgIMG_0973.jpgIMG_0972.jpgIMG_0970.jpg

Boiler I have 0 experience with the tubbs but also know a guy that has used them success. I would definitely see what it can do without them first though IMO.
Conrad mine didn't like 180 accubonds at all. I was almost ready to give up on it but then tried 165 ttsx with good success and finally the 168 Berger's with fantastic results. What powder are you using?

I use H 4831sc for all the accubonds and 200 grain Berger. The 210 where shot with H1000. The 210s where not shot clip length. They where shot .10 off the lands. The rest were shot from the clip. The 180 accubonds where 2.739 measured from the ogive. And the 200 accubonds where 2.729 measured from ogive.

Well I finally put some rounds through my 7. 50 tubbs bullets, and its looking pretty good, but now it's time to really see what she can do with my "real" rounds. I'm gonna try 150gr. Partitions with rl22 powder. Anybody have a jumpspace suggestion?
