I was considering picking up a Bergera HMR chambered in 6.5 creedmoor for my next rifle, intending it to be used on game from antelope to elk. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts or personal experience with the rifle platform and/or the creedmoor round?

Any experience with them would be appreciated!

I have a friend that raves about Bergera?s. He shoots and hunts quite a bit. I?ve handled a few. I?d put them with Tikka?s, which is high praise from me.

Not used a 6.5 CM, but have used a 260 Rem quite a bit. With 140 cup and core pills, plenty for elk. You place it correctly, dead elk ensue. Use a premium bullet, and your shot angles expand a little. It is on the lighter end of adequate IMO. But that?s a place I am happy at and have used with success. For smaller game, it is just a great round.

The 6 and 6.5 CDMR still have about 1,000 ft/lbs of energy at 650-700 yards, depending on load. I would not want to be a North American game animal standing 700 yards from a guy/gal who just shot one of the 6s. Chances are he/she shoots it a lot, and places the shots well.

I have a bergara B14 Hunter in 6.5 and love it. Shoots lights out but I've only taken deer and antelope with it. Used the 300 for my elk. Highly suggest Bergara
