I acquired my third Remington Model Seven stainless/synthetic .260 Rem caliber last week. These rifles are for my three grandsons. I carried this rifle to the range and was getting a group about the size of a volley ball. Now grant you my other two are not sub moa shooters but will generally group 1.5 or less. I was shooting the Remington 120 grain Accu-Tips which has been my ammo of choice. Remington is not producing this ammo anymore so I didn't want to waste what I have at the range. I brought the rifle home and stripped it down including taking the scope rings and mounts off. I brushed it good with Hoppes several times and let it soak in Hoppes overnight. This morning I ran Sweets through it several times and then dried it all out and applied a thin coat of Rem Oil where needed. Put everything back and properly torqued stock, mount and ring screws. Had a box of Federal Fusions I acquired with my second rifle and decided to shoot them instead of shooting up my Accu-Tips at the range. I don't know what fixed it but I shot a fouling shot out of it and then two sub moa three round groups. I have never shot the Fusions and would like to get any opinions of this ammo on whitetail deer. It might not be the ammo but I will shoot it if it will perform with this kind of accuracy. BTW it is 120 grain ammo.

Have used Fusions on deer, they work very well for deer. 120's in a 25-06, 130's in a 270 and 140's in a 280. My 260 does not like them, but if it did, I use the 120's out my my 260 without hesitation for deer.

Being a BIG fan of the short body case and the 260, the Fusion are a GREAT round. They are on par with Federal Gold Metal match if you buy the 308.
Sounds like you found a real shooter for your grandson's.

I'm not a stickler on whether a rifle will shoot MOA. I feel if it will stay in the kill zone as far as I am comfortable shooting at game it is accurate enough for me.
Good luck with your 260's they seem to be an under rated caliber that maybe more hunters should look at.

I've had great results with the Fusions in several of my 260s. Good accuracy and performance on deer. I'd have zero hesitation about using them again.
