I am sure this question has been asked a hundred times but being new to elk hunting can someone explain to me how thermals work and how to use them to my advantage when i come out elk hunting. Thanks for the input.

Remember that thermals are not wind. Very simply in the morning the thermals create air movement down the mountains and in the afternoon the thermals create air movement up the mountains.
