weather strip 3 directions around the tailgate will help a bunch on dust.early broncos were my first rig also,,,have had 4 earlys now over the years from a mudder w 38,s lifted 7",converted in a 351 windser and top loader 4-speed to a 800 hp big block chev sand dragger and some broncos in between and know almost everything that can be done to them or have done it over the years.they are super hard to find a good one now.feel free to p m me with any questions you need.{ been a mechanic by trade for 30 years now}have fun with your bronco.

I just sold my last two, a 1968 with a 289" V-8 3 spd. to a guy in Florida. It was fully restored. And my 1972 went away last month.
But I have my eye on another.

I guess there are some kids in California with a brain that works after all lol. Looks like you are doing a great job setting up your old Bronco how you want it! My suggestion would be to put a winch on it. Mine has saved my butt a few times!!!

I cannot find it anywhere online, but I know that I read it in the issue of elk hunter magazine from last month. It was in the hardcore hunt tactics section.

And that is cool that all you guys have ties to old broncos too haha, it seems that everyone has had one at one time.

I love the old Bronco's! As far as making one a hunting rig I agree with MM, winch. If you ever want it to haul ass I can likely help you out. For some strange reason I think old Bronco's should have at least 500 HP I also think they should have a top loader 4-speed like Ore hunter was talking about. I have one in my Jeep and they are awesome transmissions for go fast guys like me.

What ever you do, keep your Bronco. I bought me Jeep when I was 18, that was 27 years ago, me and that 'Ol CJ have had some fun!

Yeah it is about to pick up a little more power when I throw on this 4 bbl carb. Used to have a winch and front and rear winch bumpers. They were just too heavy for a daily driver. I also did not use them often enough.
My old engine had a nice cam in it that gave it some more power, but I dig the quiet stock engines on a daily driver. Kind of wish I woulda spent the extra money for a built 300+ hp engine.
