I’ve looked at the Weatherby website as well as a few other reviews that were done on this rifle as well as the RPM. The stated velocities in this video are nowhere near the actual listed on any other site. Are these handloads by chance? Based on the video the gentleman stated it was manufactured I do believe. It sounded like he said 3530 ft./s. Best time I’m seeing is 3100 to 3150 elsewhere depending on the bullet selection
Thoughts?

What I have been reading is that the 6.5-300 will get you up to the 3500 fps range with the 127 grain bullet but the 6.5 RPM is only going to be in the 3200 fps range. This is for factory ammo which is usually 100-200 fps faster than a consumer can get it with factory ammo.

I haven't looked at any hand loading data for either yet.

I bought a model 700 Remington Special in 300 Weatherby back in 1988 I think it was. Cost me around $400. I saw this video and it got me curious - so I looked it up on gunbroker.com. $3200 and some change. Really nice gun, but I think I'll carry the extra 3-4 pounds for a while longer.

I also like the new WBY..........BUT I already have a .300 & .257 Wby and shoot a 30-06 & 25-06 too. At my age I would like a lighter rifle, but I think I'll carry around the extra weight and save the money for hunting trips.

Dang it. Why did you guys have to post this?? 😆

Attention to recoil management in the rifle design is interesting.

The nostalgic part of me wants to get a .264 Win Mag featherweight model 70 to give my SIG scope a home; but after watching that, I probably need to keep an open mind!

Oh, I cut my hair recently, so the man bun will need to wait some weeks. 😂
