I drew a type 9 elk tag that I'm really excited about.. Decided to toss my name in the antelope hat, shooting for a random tag with about 3% odds. Points only for deer this year.

Shot for the stars with the elk and antelope tags but will happy with the general elk and deer tags if we don't draw.

Not really sure what I am hoping for with results. With a cow bison tag in hand I'd be happy if I only drew my antelope tag. But if I draw more and fill the freezer with elk and bison, I'll be shooting the moon next year in the draw.

I just visited with a lady at the WY Fish and Game here in Cody. I jokingly asked her what area my stepfather and I had drawn for antelope. She looked at my application, and the scar on my knee, and said I would not have to worry about hiking around in Wyoming this Fall. Man, that made me laugh out loud! Great people. Very friendly and helpful.

Happy to finally draw something. Burned max deer points for an 87 tag. Relieved I'm going hunting somewhere. Will buy an archery permit to extend my opportunity.
