Merry Christmas
I got some 280's this year and wanted to catch an Otter to mount for the wall so I set a creek that I had seen a couple otters messing around in.
I used to trap coons and muskrats a lot when I was younger. I always used 110 conibears for the rats and never owned any of the big traps. These 280's are just pretty dangerous I decided. I have the safety tools of course but you still need to be VERY careful while handling these traps.
Caught 2 otters and a 35 pound beaver in 2 days of trapping.
4 things come to mind after this little adventure.
1. I dont like fleshing beavers.
2. I dont like fleshing otters.
3. I dont like setting big conibear traps.
4. I dont care if I ever catch another otter or beaver lol
If anyone is wondering, I did catch these on Public land.
