Looking for info on where a guy should start scouting for the Tendoys sheep hunt in MT. I am going to head out a week before archery opener does anyone have any info on that area good or bad. I have all of the maps and have spent lots of time in Montana hunting elk and mule deer just never sheep and never in that area. Any tips on archery hunting sheep would be great too! I figured this maybe my only chance to hunt a sheep, so I joined the gong show!

Thanks and good luck to everyone this season!

Just remember if you are on the 315 hunt they redrew the 315 boundary this year for this hunt. Since they are wanting to kill them all in 315 I would imagine that the biologist for this area would be more than willing to share information of known locations of the herd. I would give them a call.

I understand what you are saying about get any sheep tag you can get your hands on! I expect it will be a tough hunt but I think you are on the right track going a week early. Hopefully you will have a good plan on opening morning and everyone else doesnt have the same plan. Go have a great hunt. Weather you punch the tag or not you will atleast get to hunt sheep! Good Luck and keep us posted! I keep thinking about the unlimited hunts just because they are a sheep tag you can get in your pocket. Some year I will try it!

Looks like there has been 2 other rams killed besides the ram not found. The Sitka guys and sounds like a kid posted a pic of one but not 100% on that one.

Tendoy Success! My group went 3/3 on ewes, and I missed a 1/2 curl ram. Like any hunt the name of the game is to be where the animals are. I talked to many hunters and lots of hunters went home empty handed, and lots went home not seeing any sheep. This was not an easy hunt, we hiked miles every day going straight up and down in awesome sheep country! My group met a lot of great people from MT, ND, WI, & CO. Below is a link the MT F&G updates the harvest daily.
