I just purchased the tc pro hunter fx with 3-9x40 leupold ultimate slam. Im planning on shooting hornady sst low drag 250 grain with blackhorn powder. Im curious if any of you have any experience with this or similar setup shooting blackhorn. The scope is setup to shoot either two or three pellets (100 or 150grain) and im curious what that equates to in blackhorn powder. I would like to know about what setting I would apply for 100 grains by volume of blackhorn.

i have a TC pro hunter (not the fx) and shoot blackhorn powder. I use 110 grains and have had real good results with it

I shoot a TC Pro Hunter not fx and use 150gr. of Pyrodex, 300gr. TC shockwave or Hornady SST. This set up has killed one muley and 2 bull elk. Did not care for the SST fragmentation on my UT bull but it killed the animal none the less. If memory serves me right, the 3 shot group at the range using a Caldwell Lead Sled was just under an inch. Oh, and there is no scope, open fiber optic sights that came with the gun.

80 grains Blackhorn is about 2 pellets, and 120 is supposed to be 3 pellets. You will find more consistency in the Blackhorn by actually weighing it than just using the volume vials. Good luck and God bless
