Supplements-Who uses them?

This probably isn't a new thing, but out of curiosity who here has used some of the supplements that are out there?

Who has used the supplements that are now geared for hunting the West?

I swear by the hydrate and recover as well as the altitude advantage made by Wilderness Athlete. Kinda curious to try the stuff made by Mtn Ops.

For me its Wilderness Athlete Products. I got back in the gym two weeks ago and with basketball beginning in less than a month my morning sessions will consist of pounding weights as I get my cardio with my players in drills and conditioning.

For this I use a Whey based protein powder in the mornings after my workout which is mixed with W.A. Green Infusion and I wash down two of the W.A. multi-vitamins and two Joint Advantage pills with it all. I also limit my coffee intake to 12-14 oz. in the morning and in the afternoon I chug down a "Blaze" or "Superman," this is a mixture of W.A. Hydrate & Recover w/ Energy & Focus.

That's about it for me and supplements but I have tried a ton of them over the years and these are what I've found work best for me.

Time to start planning for next season!

What happened to Mountain Dew and doughnut holes? LOL...just kidding. Biggest thing that has helped me in recent years with elevation changes has been lots of water and take a multi vitamin with Ginkgo Biloba in it. It has really made a difference for me when I head out west. I would be interested in any supplement that included this and anything else that may take the edge off the altitude adjustment.

Mountain Dew for hunting. When we were younger doing backpack fishing trips it was Vodka and a container of Tang. Breakfast of champions...

I really like mountain wilderness I get both hydrate and recovery and altitude before I go to Idaho each year,and I can honestly say I can feel the benefits of their product.just wish that all the stuff that is good for you is always too much to spend on a monthly bases or I'd use it everyday

I like to use whey protein. I have an uneasy stomach in the mornings when I first wake up been an issue since I was young, but it would keep me from eating breakfast. So I started drinking the whey protein in the mornings to help get the vitamins and protiens my body wasnt getting before.

Most supplements are very effective at lightening your wallet. If you eat a proper well balanced diet you don't need anything else.
If you read the labels the testing labs only confirm the purity of the ingredients NOT the effectivness of the claims.

Whey protein (isolate only, blends are garbage), amino's, creatine, and a multi-vitamin at home and in the gym. Lots of protein bars, carb chews, and electrolyte powders in my pack while out hunting.

Don't buy into anything that's marketed for "hunters, or being outwest". Do a little research to learn about the ingredients and you can often get a superior product for less $$$.

Most supplements don't do much since they are water soluble. I sure wish the FDA would regulate them but a certain senior senator from Utah won't have any of it. Who knows what's really in all of it.
Supplements are a waste of your money. It doesn't matter what they claim and that they are USDA approved. That just means they aren't going to hurt you, not that they are actually effective on whatever they claim.

Absolutely incorrect. MANY supplements are a waste of money yes. But there are many proven brands and proven supplements out there. There are certain levels of fitness and strength that are simply un-attainable without proper supplementation.
