Question, if you don't mind.

Is your homeowners covering your machine, or did you purchase a separate policy?

I have always been told my homeowners will cover my ATV, but I have never had to test that.

Generally, your homeowners is only going to cover the machine if it was wrecked on the property.. And then, it's subject to your home owners deductible. This would vary from carrier to carrier..

Sorry about the machine IKIC, hope the insurance comes through for you. Makes me think I should probably carry more than just liability on mine.

Odds are any homeowners coverage for a toy will have limits on $ and causes of loss. Will vary by company ans policy type. Ask your agent, get it in writing, and save it if they say you have "full" coverage. If all they say is you are covered and/or have full coverage, run and get a new agent. Get specifics.

Myself, having 32+ years in insurance, all my toys have a separate policy, just like my cars, and all are covered under my umbrella/high limits liability policy. The toy coverage, motorcycles, atv, boats, etc. is generally cheap, utv's I am not sure about, but likely affordable. If a guest/family member gets hurt on my toy, heaven forbid, there is coverage, no need to sue me. If stolen/wrecked etc, I get a new toy. Most of my toys are $10 a month or less.

I have coverage on my machine. In Nv you can register your UTV and insure it. You can then drive on roads to get to blm up to 5 miles from your home.

I keep up on several hunting forums and have for years and never read about insurance. That's surprising because many of us have atv's, boats, campers, etc.. I'm guessing many of us don't really know what kind of coverage we have or need. I have a separate policy on my atv, but couldn't tell you what that coverage is. Another thought comes to mind is about gun coverage. I'll probably start a new thread, don't won't to steal this thread. Sorry for the pun IKIC.

All my rifles are covered under my homeowners policies. I believe it only covers if they are stolen from my home. They are stored in a large safe that is bolted to the concrete floor so I doubt it would happen but you never know.

Most homeowners insurance only covers a very limited amount on firearms, like a $1,000.00 without a special rider. Nra offers an insurance program and so does SCI. When you start looking at the actual replacement cost of just one rifle, scope, rings, base, sling it does not take much to get above the limit on your homeowners. Look into these others. Hopefully your deductible is not too high on these creep's IKIC!! God bless

Deductible is only $250. I will always insure my UTV and anything else for that matter. Like you said one stolen gun will pay for many years of insurance.

Insurance Compnay came through for us. They will be paying out $20k that will take care of all costs for the payoff and all accessories I have installed on the Viking. I was very skeptical but in the end our insurance co took care of us.

If you have recreational vehicles get them insured. A couple hundred buck a year is well worth the costs.

Thanks for all the support

No word on the guys that stole it but the Sheriffs Dept are still trying to find them.

That's Great!!

If you don't mind, is your insurance company one of the big ones? Love to hear positive outcomes on things like this
