Have you checked out Sure Cycle springs. Put one in my Browning Gold & had the piston sealed, worked wonders
You had the piston sealed? I never went the surecycle route because I never had issues with any of my Browning or Winchester gas guns so this is something I have never heard of. Basically you turned the gun into a 100% inertia driven gun?

How did that surecycle work when trying to cycle 2-3/4" light dove loads?

Was the recoil with 3.5" loads substantially more since your not bleeding off excess pressure through the gas piston?

I had the piston sealed due to still having cycling issues every once in awhile after the Sure cycle spring was installed. And it seemed to take care of that. Did not notice any more recoil w/3.5 shells but i don't shoot them that often. I use my 20 gauge for dove so I can't tell if that made a difference there either. Strictly a duck gun. Sorry I could not answer your specific question

We ran em the last 4 hunts and they seemed to work well. I cleaned every hunt, ran them dry snd only put graphite on the bolt rails. Shot Remington and Federal loads. Caveats were pretty warm out and no moisture.
