I've been into the high country the last two weekends keeping tabs on some elk. Yesterday there was a single engine plane that buzzed the area at low elevation for nearly 30 minutes. It started around 8am and the elk were already making their way to the trees. I hiked around and returned to my vantage point around 3 but was unable to find any elk.
My question is will those elk be in the same area or did they get run out of there? Season starts the 20th and that area is my #1 spot.
Thanks

wow. tough 1. high country elk are crazy! They will migrate far if there being bothered, especially during the hunting season, but season hasn't started yet. Good chance there only going to leave for a day or 2. If they don't come back don't be afraid 2 check out some surrounding area's. "It's there home, they leave and come as they want"..
