You guys get into advanced stats at all?

I do at times........your comment made me look up SF/SA of Pitt/Anaheim over the season and that number was quite the big difference in between them.

I try and save the side of my brain that does all the data analysis/metrics viewing for hunting charts only!! :)

The shots portion doesn't ride as high as the possession stats. Detroit under Babcock was the first team I ever noticed that just never let the other team have the puck, even in the defensive zone. Puck possession is the one that always intrigued me.

A few teams intentionally give up perimeter shots to start break outs.

They were still outshot and if not for a terrible goal gave up by Murray, this series would be over. Sharks did play better and if they have more to give, pens could be in trouble. It's been very rare the pens lose back to back.

Penguins probably, but it's the Stanley cup finals!? it'll probably go 7 games and either team can win it.

Don't Sharks eat Penguins?

Pitt is currently up 2-1 in the series... so we'll see.

My hawks are out so... would be nice to see the west win it.

Pens beat them down again and did their usual prevent defense in the 3rd period. I've seen a 3-0 lead evaporate and plenty of 2-0 leads disappear this post season. It drives me nuts but luckily it's only bit them once this series and once in the Tampa series. They have up a 3-0 lead to caps but won in overtime. Sharks have not led in the series albeit the one over time goal

Another dominating game for the pens but the hockey gods shone on the sharks as the pens Clanked shots off the post. Matt Murrays and the pens slow start allowed sharks to win the game with 7 minutes of good play. Jones was solid

3 goals in the first..id say that is 20 minutes of good play. . . and not allowing another goal..well then according to my hockey knowledge..that would be another 40 minutes of good play. Its obvious the sharks know the speed of the pens is going to get them shots, thats why you have a top quality goalie to rely on. Its playoff hockey, all that matters is who wins..not how many shots you get or posts you hit. . Sharks hit the post 2 times in game 1...had those gone in, it would be 3-2 sharks right now... Thats why i love playoff hockey!! I was expecting the pens to win honestly...now im strongly hoping to see another game in Pittsburg!

I too was surprised that pens didn't win, especially after tying the game. The pens have played better for the majority of the games and sharks managed to win a couple. I'd be a little more worried if pens had won games that they didn't deserve to but in a 7 game series the better team usually triumphs. Luck doesn't win you 3 in a row so if the sharks happen to pull this off, hats off to them.

What concerns me is that I don't think we've seen the sharks best. I've seen some flashes and it was spooky.

Coworker drew this for me. It was pretty funny.

The Sharks are a better team than this series has shown so far.

Interesting stat... Le tang wasn't on the ice for any of the goals. The question mark heading into the playoffs was their defense. Bend but don't break is a way to beat a speed team who only has one horse on the backend. Can the Sharks do it again? Maybe, my guess is that Mslkin And Crosby get a couple more minutes a piece with the task of covering the tails of the young dmen.

Dejavu! Just like lightning should not have made it a series, the Sharks got a break. There is no one in thehockey world that can deny the fact the sharks have been completely outplayed the entire series. As much as I would've liked to post it on here that they won the cup in five, they will win in six! I actually hope it goes 7 only because there is nothing else to watch!
