Was just curious how the winter has been so far in Wyoming? In NE Nevada it was a pretty miserable sucker for about a month or so. Hard on the animals especially coming off such a dry year last year. Anyhow just making small talk and wondering how the winter ranges are looking and how the deer, elk, antelope are fairing over there.

We are in bad shape over by Laramie. We have hardly any snow pack. We had a cold spell that lasted about 10 days. Last week it got to 50 degree's. I do snow removal for a side job and this is looking worse than last year. I drove over the range yesterday for work in Walden Colorado, saw very few animals, there is no food for them. Haven't seen an elk since October.

I agree SSLIGER. It is going to be an ugly year. The water reservoirs are about dry and no snow in mountains equal a bad time for humans and animals. For a while I was thinking that the worse thing that could happen is a heavy snow in the spring because it would block food but I don't think that will matter. there is no food to begin with. 2013 could be another very ugly year for fires.

After not hunting in SoCentral Wyoming for 5 years, I went back last year for antelope. man was I shocked at the lack of water and fewer antelope than I have ever seen before. Sure sounds like another bad year, hope things change soon!

Boy, Sounds pretty bleak. Wonder if the deer and antelope will ever catch a break. I heard there was a high mortality on the fawn antelope even before the winter hit. Dont know if there is any truth to it but it sounds bad. We had a month of bitter cold and the snow from the begining of Jan is still here and is crusted over bad. I hope for some light spring snows for the water content, but that is when the game is at its weakest point so its a double edged sword for sure.

No moose hunting left in my lifetime thanks to wolf lovers. Dr Smith at Yellowstone started it and now Mn canceled their wolf hunt too. I wish wolf lovers wore uniforms.

well, idk about everywhere else, but the central part of the state has been getting more snow the last couple weeks, I guess the laramie range and casper mountain got right around 2 feet yesterday, so it is gettting slightly better

Laramie got a a couple of inches and I am guessing the mountains got a lot more. Seems the storms form North and West build up and as soon as they top the mountains, the unload. So hopefully things are going to work themselves out.

Just went fishing down at the Flaming Gorge over Presidents' Day weekend and there was no snow, only saw about 20 deer. Drove thru Evanston on my way to Vegas last weekend and they seem to have some decent amount of snow.
