Today was the opener for youth deer in South Dakota. Temps were in the mid 30's when we made our way up to the black hills. Luck was on our side as a group of does was feeding at the forest service trailhead we normally park at. Less than an hour into the season and my 12 year old was already tagged out. We spent the rest of the day checking cameras, looking for mule deer, and thinning out some coyotes. Was a great day in the woods with my oldest boys.
