Sons first deer

My oldest son Easton, who will be 7 in a couple weeks, shot his first deer yesterday afternoon. The youth week opened yesterday in Louisiana for our area. Still hard for me to put into words how I feel. First deer he has ever shot at. A couple practices with his moms .243 had him shooting a 3" group at 100 yards. My daughter started killing deer 3 years ago and has only missed once. I'm soooo glad my kids shoot better than I did at that age. What made it even more special is that he dropped her about 30yds from where I killed my first deer 25 years ago.

Never got lucky enough to have a son for stuff like this. But I have a daughter that likes to hunt and does well. Praying for the day to get a grandson!!!

My daughter also loves to hunt. I actually took her today but she is waiting on horns. She can't wait until she turns 12 in 2 years because I told her we would make an antelope hunt in WY if we can draw.

Awesome, congrats! Leaving on a redeye this evening to take my 11 year old for his first ever deer hunt. We'll be in Vermont, and he'll be able to hunt with Grandpa.....
