not a big fan of hunting the desert but its a pretty easy fast hunt, I figured it would be fun for his first. just so damn hot, ill have lots of ice on hand

haha thanks, but I think a euro mount will suit his room just fine:cool: theres a bigger one on the left, I thought I had him in the pic

he is 10, when we get him a big hard horned dark ivory tipped bull then we will talk mount. haha, if he shoots a decent buck this year ill get that shoulder mounted.

there are a few hunts that open on aug 1st here. rifle, any sex, most of the hunts have to be within a mile of a cultivated field but this hunts covers a monster sized area. the edge of the zone borders a spot where a lot of Yellowstone park elk, and island park elk winter. all of august its either sex, from September to end of December its cow elk. kind of a pain in the arse zone to hunt unless you know some spots. after the first week the elk aren't as predictable and have a huge desert dotted with hay fields do disappear to.
